Terms & Conditions

  1. This competition is organised by the Vital Health Foods’ (Pty) Ltd initiative the Vital Foundation (the “Organisers”) and is open to all South African citizens residing in the Republic of South Africa – (a valid South African identity document is required), except directors, members, business partners, employees, sales agents, advertising agency staff and the immediate family members of all the foresaid (including, but not limited to, spouses, life partners, parents, children, brothers and sisters).
  2. Only South African based organisations are eligible for this competition.
  3. The cash prize of the Vital Awards will only be donated to a formally constituted, registered non-profit or similar organisation that had been in existence for six months or longer and which has a clear programme of action or services focusing on woman and child abuse.
  4. The organisation should have a focus on addressing issues related to the abuse of women and children and have an appropriate governance structure in place such as a Board of Directors or similar accountability structure.
  5. The winning nominator will win a Samsung prize to the value of R6 000.
  6. The competition runs from 11 August 2014 and the closing date is midnight 25 November 2014.
  7. The organisers’ decision regarding all matters relating to the competition will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  8. The winning organisation will be required to sign acknowledgement of receipt of the award and provide an indication of how this award will be used to further the aims of eradicating woman and child abuse.
  9. The winner must acknowledge their winning status within 72 hours of being contacted by the organisers. The winners will be contacted telephonically and by e-mail where possible.
  10. The winners will be announced on radio Metro FM, 5FM and RSG on the last Friday of every month for the duration of this competition. The winners will also be announced on the SABC 3 show Expresso.
  11. The winning organisation and nominator may be invited to participate on any of the Vital Foundation platforms that profile organisations fighting abuse and / or participate in the activities of the Vital Foundation.
  12. The competition shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of South Africa.
  13. The winners agree to use and accept the prize at their own risk. If required by the Minister for Trade and Industry, the Lotteries Board or for any other reason whatsoever, the organisers, will be entitled to terminate the competition immediately without notice to entrants. In such an event all entrants hereby waive any rights which they may have against Vital Health Foods (Pty) Ltd and the Vital Foundation.
  14. The organisers reserve the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions of entry or who tampers with the entry process or who is in breach of these terms and conditions. Failure by the organiser to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
  15. The organisers reserve the right to amend, modify or change these rules at any time during the competition.
  16. By entering into this competition, all entrants and winners agree to indemnify the organiser, its associated companies and employees, directors, members, partners, agents, suppliers and/or consultants and associated companies of Vital Health foods (Pty) Ltd and the Vital Foundation, against any costs, damages, liability, penalties or claims of any nature whatsoever arising out of, and their participation in the competition.
  17. By entering the competition all entrants and prize winners agree to be bound by terms and conditions of the competition, which will be interpreted by the organisers in their sole, absolute and unfettered discretion.
